History
 Medicine has been part of Gideon’s entire life. His late grandfather was a well accomplished general surgeon and his father
(Dr. Gideon G. Lewis) is a practicing Family Medicine physician.  Gideon learned drive and service from his father. Being born and raised in Orlando, FL, Gideon’s childhood consisted of frequent visits to the hospital making rounds with his father, which quickly sparked his passion for a life of serving patients.
Making His Mark
 In 2006, immediately after completing his surgical residency, Gideon joined his father to create Drs. Lewis and Lewis.  With the combination of his passion for sports and his strong work ethic, in 2017 Gideon established the Foot & Ankle Sports Medicine Institute in Winter Park, FL, 
which currently serves hundreds of new athletes, as well as professional athletes almost every day from across the country and internationally.
EDUCATION
 Gideon earned his Doctorate degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine, training at the University of California at San Francisco 
School of Medicine 
 
teaching hospitals. He is a proud University of Central Florida (UCF) alumnus, 
having earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology.  He completed his Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency at Advent Health (formerly Florida Hospital) with extensive training in Advanced Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Teaching Positions
 Gideon is very active in academics with his numerous involvements in student education which he their medical journey. In 2018, he received 
 UCF College of Medicine’s Dean’s Award which is the highest honor awarded to a faculty member.
He his is a Clinical Professor with 
  Florida State University College of Medicine 
 
and an Assistant Professor with UCF College of Medicine. 
In 2010, Gideon founded the UCF Surgical Internship Program 
 and serves as the Director of this elite program. Since 2011, 
 eight of his interns have been awarded the Order of Pegasus, UCF’s highest award 
 and two students have been accepted into 
 Harvard Medical School.
He currently serves as the 
 Chief Sports Medicine Faculty Advisor 
for the UCF College of Medicine Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Interest Group. He is also an attending physician for Advent Health’s Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency Program. 
 
ACHIEVEMENTS
In 2010 Gideon was selected as the very first recipient for the “Rising Star Award” presented by the UCF College of Medicine. 
The faculty and administration selected Gideon from a pool of more than ten thousand alumni for this honor citing his outstanding work and achievements within UCF and the Central Florida Community. In 2018, he received UCF College of Medicine’s Dean’s Award which is the highest honor awarded to a faculty member.
Gideon remains active in the Central Florida community with his involvement in multiple organizations.  He currently serves on the UCF Foundation Board of Directors 
and is currently an interviewer for the UCF College of Medicine Admission’s Committee. 
He sits on the Board of Directors for the Kerosene Lamp Foundation, founded by former NBA player Adonal Foyle, 
and has been a recipient for Board Director of the Year. 
 
Gideon is the Chief Medical Director for Star Athletics training team led by former Olympian, Dennis Mitchell.  This team has been the training group for numerous Olympic medalists. 
He is the former Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board for Milesplit.com, the nations largest online high school and college track and field network.  He is also a former member of Dwight Howard’s D12 Foundation Board of Advisory.  In 2011, Gideon was the Official Event Physician for Dwight Howard’s Celebrity All-Star Game, which featured numerous NBA player, rapper Lil Wayne, and World Champion boxer Floyd Mayweather.
In 2012 he was selected by the FBI to participate in their distinguished FBI Citizen’s Academy 
and completed this program in Washington D.C. and Quantico, Virginia. 
In the Spring of 2014, Gideon was invited to be the Keynote Speaker of the UCF Commencement Ceremony with an audience of over 10,000 people. 
Since that time he has been a platform speaker at multiple UCF graduations including the UCF College of Medicine.
